A new, free, on-line quarterly, the Olney Review of Books (ORB), is launching on Mid-Summer’s Day, 24th June 2026.

ORB's inaugural mission is to the moon, celebrating the 250th anniversary of Olney's Reverend John Newton writing On the Eclipse of the Moon, 30th of July, 1776.

In its launch issue, ORB will review the American Declaration of Independence, signed on 4th July, 1776 in Philadelphia, 3,300 miles to the west of Olney, together with views and reviews of outer space, books old and new, plus essays on contemporary culture, the market place, sport, the arts, social justice and the public square which is shaped by politics, law, education and faith.

ORB will begin as a quarterly, reflecting the seasons, with its first issue in the summer of 2026.

In between these Quarter Days, readers who sign up to the free ORB service can receive by email weekly reflections on a different article from the launch issue and subsequent issues.
